When I recorded my first album, I'd been doing standup almost exactly ten years. The process of getting good at standup and figuring out how to make good jokes is long and difficult, and riddled with weird sets in weird rooms and weird attempts at being yourself. This EP is the first in a series of albums paying homage to that process. Like I said, standup is hard as shit to figure out, but with glimmers of fun and good comedy along the way. My headlining set at the Nerdist Theater at Meltdown on September 9, 2014 was one of those glimmers. This EP is a collection of my favorite in-the-moment riffs from that night, along with a couple old jokes I like that didn't make it onto my album for one reason or another. Over the years, I hope to put out more volumes of this series, collecting random good moments from open mics, bar shows and strange nights along the ride of this dumb standup shit I love.
